Today’s outfit is what to wear to the races. I have styled an outfit that’s race ready from the Laura Ashley Occasion Collection.
You may have read my article already that I posted over on the Laura Ashley Blog. There is a lot more information about dress codes over there but today I’m sharing the inspiration and the photos from the shoot for those who didn’t see it already. Thank you so much for those of you that checked out the post and for all the lovely comments.
Here are some tips to check before you attend the races:
- Check the dress code for the type of ticket you hold. For example, Royal Ascot specify a dress code depending on which enclosure you have a ticket for. In the Royal enclosure, you’ll find it’s more formally dressed as opposed to other areas where there is a much more relaxed dress code. It’s a great idea to check on the website when you’re planning your outfits.
- Always check the weather and consider the time of year it is. There is nothing worse than being too cold or inappropriately dressed for the weather.
- My final tip is to always wear something that you feel confident and comfortable in, something that reflects you and to have fun! Wear shoes that you will be comfortable wearing all day long so for me that means not too high or shoes that will rub.
I love the pretty midi embroidered dress. For me it’s the perfect pale powder pink and gives off a lovely lady like impression. I think this dress would be lovely for a summer party or wedding too.
The clutch has a handy chain strap so great to use if you want to free up your hands. I also recommend if you are attending the races that you would need to find some headwear depending on where you hold you ticket. Laura Ashley have a great range of fascinators to compliment this outfit.
What do you think? I hope you enjoy the photos from what to wear to the races. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.
