The Perfect White Summer Dress

Today’s outfit features my idea of the perfect white summer dress. It’s flattering and wearable in so many ways and it’s sure to see me through the summer months.

The dress and sandals are from JD Williams. They asked me to pick my favourite summer dress from their collection to show here on the blog. With that in mind I was looking for a summer dress that would be flattering, easy to wear, and something that I could wear again and again.

The Joanna Hope Broiderie Anglais Dress was my choice. When looking for a summer dress for myself, I like to have midi or maxi length which allows me to cover my knees which I am conscious about when going bare legged. The midi length takes this insecurity away and leaves me feeling confident to go about my day. I love the broiderie anglaise detailing. This classic summer detail always looks pretty and never goes in and out of style as it’s a classic, so will not date. This is what I look for in a summer dress as in the UK the weather is hit and miss so some seasons I have barely got a chance to wear my summer dress before packing it away for the next year. It’s great to have a classic that I can pull out again and again.

It’s said that wearing the colour white in the summer keeps you cooler. It’s the same when wearing a natural fabric like cotton. This perfect white dress is 100% cotton and machine washable which is also a winner for me.

My choice of footwear is the lace up wedge sandals in tan from the summer sandals collection, these give the outfit an up to date look with lace ups being a big trend again this year.
