Today’s look is my take on wearing red the colour of AW17.
Red is trending this season and is the hottest colour for AW17. Whether you embrace the trend with head to toe red or just add a pop with an accessory, there is a way for everyone to embrace red and here is my red outfit.
Red The Colour Of AW17
I picked up this dark red tweed blazer from Zara recently. I had been looking for a red coat or jacket for a few weeks and was having difficulty finding a shade that suited me. In the autumn and winter months, I love to wear deeper shades or red like burgundy, merlot, berry and deep ruby, and this blazer is the perfect deep red colour.
Whether embracing red with the deeper shades like me or a brighter shade like pillarbox red, there are lots of options out there this season. If you are not used to wearing lots of colour, red clothes can seem daunting so my advice would be to start with an accessory like a bag or shoe to add the colour to your look. A scarf also makes a nice pop of colour in the cooler months.
The oversized shape and style of the tweed blazer is reminiscent of the 1980s era which is also a trend this season. I love the big pearl buttons on the blazer which match my pearl earrings perfectly. I also love the fringing around the edges of the jacket. I always find that Zara do a great tweed jacket and they usually have a few different styles in stock all year round.

I kept the rest of the outfit really simple with just a black tee and jeans and some burgundy kitten heels that tied in with the colour of the jacket. You could easily wear this jacket with a dress or skirt too.
I hope you like the look and I would love to know how you are embracing red the colour of AW17. Do you like the colour red or is it not for you?
