In today’s look, I’m layering a jumper over a dress for an on trend autumn look.
Layering a Jumper Over a Dress
I love layering up in autumn and winter. It gives a much more cozy feel to an outfit and with the unpredictable weather we have in the UK, it allows you to easily remove or add a layer to adjust.
I’ve mentioned a few times recently in previous posts about layering knitwear over a dress this winter so I thought I would show you this look today where I layered a fine knit jumper over a shirt dress. It’s so easy to create and you could do it with any jumper and shirt dress from your own wardrobe.
You may remember this checked dress from a previous blog post about the plaid trend 2017. I really love the dress and wanted to find another way of wearing it.
I paired the outfit with some flat ankle boots and my black tote bag for a casual daytime look. I love how this outfit turned out and will definitely be wearing this dress again with a thicker knit when the weather gets cooler. It would be great around the festive season too. The finished look is very much like layering a jumper over a shirt. You get to see a pop of colour from the collar and cuffs. I will definitely be layering up a few more shirt dresses this season.
I hope you like the layered look and let me know your thoughts in the comments section below. Would you try layering a jumper over a dress?
