Layering A Dress Over A Button Down Shirt

Today in my outfit inspiration I am layering a dress over a button down shirt for a daytime or work look.

I love layering and prefer wearing many light layers to wearing thick heavy clothing. I also like how layers add interest to an outfit especially when using contrasting fabrics or colours. I have layered together a white button down shirt and a black silk dress to create a monochrome pinafore style look.

I think the outfit would make a nice look to wear to the office or work as it looks really smart. The shoes are a mid chunky heel so a great daytime smart shoe that are comfortable to wear when you are on your feet all day. There are endless outfits that you can use a white shirt to make they are always a good item to invest in for your all year round wardrobe.
