Today I’m taking part in a ‘be the buyer review’ for Bonmarche where I have tried out two summer dresses from the new high summer collection and I’m reviewing them both against one another.
Bonmarche asked me to choose two outfits from the collection that has just launched and I of course chose two dresses ready for summer. If you remember my post last week where I described my perfect summer dress style, you will remember how much I like to wear the flattering midi length. I chose two midi dresses; they are very different to each other and I will be showing them both below and I will tell you my favourite. I would also love to know which one you like the best so let me know in the comments section below.
Dress 1
The first dress is the Sleeveless Spot Fit and Flare Dress. This is a really simple midi style with a black and white spotty print. I love the simple style of this dress and found it really easy to wear. It’s also so light weight and perfect for very hot summer days. Whether at the office or at home or even on holiday, this dress could be styled in many ways to create different looks. I have styled it here today with my Zara Fringed Sandals and Maje M Bag in electric blue. The blue really stands out against the black and white dress. I felt that the accessories really helped to give the classic dresses a more modern and up to date feel.
Dress 2
The second dress was very different and is the David Emmanuel Floral Hanky Hem Dress. David Emmanuel is a British designer who is most famous for the design of Princess Dianas wedding dress! He does a line for Bonmarche too and this dress is part of it. The print is an oriental floral print and the dress could easily be worn in the day or as evening wear or occasion wear. I have accessorised with the same fringed sandals and bag that I used above.

Overall, although I do like both dresses, my favourite is the first dress; the black and white spot fit and flare. I just found it to be an easier and more flattering style to wear and would feel that I would get lots more use out of it than the floral dress. Which one did you like the best?
